Person Centred Care (PCC)

So much has been said and written about PCC but still there is confusion about its definition and application. I will engage you in understanding what it is, how leadership, management, health professionals and front-line workers can translate it into everyday practice. PCC is not just about putting the older person at the centre of care; it is also about how you be yourself, what policies, systems and processes you have in place, how all staff and people involved in your organisation are treated, what environment you maintain and YES where you position the older person. This content is intended for nurses, doctors, allied health, direct care workers and may be useful to families. The emphasis is aged care but should also help inform those working with older people in acute care.
